Interwoven Histories: Art Traditions of the Silk Route
Interwoven Histories: Art Traditions of the Silk Route
Bikaner House, New Delhi
30th January - 04th February
Set in the historic Bikaner House, this inaugural exhibition explores the Silk Road’s historical and cultural significance through contemporary sculptural art. Translating the spirit of the Silk Road into compelling three-dimensional art, each artwork is a visual narrative that reflects the diverse landscapes, people, and commodities that once traversed this transcontinental trade route. The ambitious curation combines works by 14 promising young and emerging contemporary artists with practices that hold a light to the future of sculptural art. Through ceramic and stone artworks, they pay a contemporary homage to the civilisations, stories and exchanges of the Silk Road.
