WORK STATEMENT
In this collection, I have created several objects resembling spools of thread that
gracefully extend as columns. Its root inspiration comes from the rich iconography of blue and white ceramics that traversed the Silk Road, interweaving cultures across the globe. These pieces draw influences from diverse regions, including China, Turkey, Japan, Korea, Morocco, India, and beyond. The distinguishing feature of these structures lies in creating a captivating interplay of concealment and exposure. This technique creates a fabric shell infused with clay to create the texture. Upon firing, the fabric bursts organically to expose landscapes and bird' s-eye views of settlements. It offers a glimpse into intricate crafts and architectural elements that journeyed along the Silk Road, finding roots in various corners of the world. Each piece is a totem of shared ideas, craftsmanship, and global cultural exchange.
